		<description>That would be interesting, but I would be surprised to discover it, because I don&#039;t think librarians often &lt;i&gt;think&lt;/i&gt; that way. It&#039;s not an anti-tech thing, but a privacy thing. Every librarian I&#039;ve ever known is incredibly hardcore about protecting the privacy of patrons. &quot;Patron information&quot; and &quot;social networking&quot; probably never show up in the same sentence at any ALA gatherings. But it&#039;s a neat idea. :0) There&#039;s kind of a trade off; in theory, libraries need to be able to protect the ability of patrons to keep their reading choices secret. For example, we never ever send overdue notices to students &lt;i&gt;homes&lt;/i&gt;, because what if a parent opened the notice? Of course, tech-savvy people often won&#039;t care or will know how to be careful, but there you go...</description>
