So I just grabbed The Psalms and the Life of Faith and turned to page 58 and this is what Brueggemann has to say:
“Note well, the You so fully and readily addressed is not a You beyond our world, not a You beyond the real substance and issues of our common life. Exuberance is not escape, and candor is not denial. This You who welcomes full address and responds in full communion is a You surrounded by great programmatic words of public life, embedded in stories of public transformation and possibility.”
