“It is a big day for those of us who believe in peace through negotiation and accomodation. Finally after 21 years of a cruel war, 1.5 million people dead, and over 4 million displaced, the leaders of Sudan ‘came to their senses’ (hopefully!). They signed a peace pact stopping all war and conceeding to a united government. It is a moment worth celebrating, but also a situation worth praying for. The wounds of the thast 2+ decades will not heal easily. The lives lost and others damaged will never be replaced.
How we pray our world learn that peace is better than war! How we pray that our leaders learn that dialogue goes a longer way than the gun.
