I need Lent. Admittedly it seems like a weird season to “celebrate” for Christians. We live post-resurrection. We are Easter people. But it’s good to remember the valley, the darkness, and the separation. Not that it’s ever very far away from life, but it’s good to remember that my faith, our faith, is as much about the valley as the mountain, the darkness as well as the light, the separation as well as the connection/bond. That’s why I need Lent.
